This AC adaptor is highly recommended as an option for providing a more stable power source when downloading pictures from the camera to the computer. Battery power can often fail during downloading which can cause loss of data.
When used with some cameras, a seperate DC coupler is required. The AC adaptor will only power the camera and not charge the battery.
